Experience

Clinical Background

I’ve been in private practice since 1990 and have spent over 30 years seeing patients in my office in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.

I received my doctorate from Case Western Reserve University in 1987. Following my doctorate, I completed an internship in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy in the Department of Psychology at University Hospitals, followed by a two-year fellowship in Human Sexuality in the Department of Psychiatry at University Hospitals.

After my training, I became a faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry at University Hospitals, where I developed a group program for survivors of sexual abuse and honed my skills as a therapist. I also began what would be a 20 year teaching career as an assistant professor at Case Western Reserve University in the Department of Psychology, where I taught the graduate seminar in long-term psychotherapy.

In 1990, I rented an office in a charming old Tudor building in Cleveland Heights and opened my own private practice. I continue to see patients in that very same office.

Over the last 3 decades, I have developed a reputation for treating trauma, sudden loss, suicide, infertility, infidelity, and other intense and life-changing circumstances. I am known as a therapist who can handle difficult and challenging issues. I’ve also continued my teaching within the community.
